PART 1
In your journal , make a 2page spread with at least 8 pages following it. On that 2pages create a title page opener for a section on figures.
Find a “Mentor” by searching their names and incorporate his or her work into this spread with at least one drawing of your own of their figurative work.

Part 2
As another 2 page spread you are to begin to draw the figure. On this spread you are to :
· 9 small drawings of people, draw friends or family as they are relaxing or standing around- 6 must include the full figure. The rest can be partial figures.
· Include part of a setting ( room ,chair, table)
· ALWAYS LOOK FOR SHADOW SHAPES
· Draw in small thumbnail boxes or just fill the pages with your drawings
· Whatever you do make sure it is a pleasing 2 page spread and the figure drawing is evident
· You will be evaluated not only on the drawings but on the unity displayed in the 2page spread
Part 3 will begin in class
After completing the 9 drawings on the next 2 facing pages you are to:
· Do 2 full page drawings of 2 different figures in 2 different positions with one person being nearer to you than the other
· Include dramatic shadows shadow shapes value and the setting
